At the Netherwood Estate

One Day Course In Collaboration with Wild Bunch Flowers and Britt Willougby Dyer - 10th September 2019

Inspired by 17thcentury still life paintings, this course will allow you to create beautiful, atmospheric arrangements and capture these on camera.   This is a hands-on day designed to spark the imagination and approach flower arranging from a different perspective, whilst also giving practical advice on how these can be styled and photographed.  Ideal for florists and growers who want to broaden and improve their visual style and non-professionals who love flowers, gardens and imagery.

Join us at Pensons on the beautiful Netherwood Estate for a visual journey to celebrate the joy and richness of the English country garden working with floristry and photography experts to create your own floral still life display in the tradition of the Dutch masters.

Flower grower and florist, Tammy Hall, founder of Wild Bunch Flowers, will explain selecting, conditioning and style using late-summer flowers and foliage grown on her flower farm nearby.  You will be working with a rich colour and textural palette, exploring a series of floral composition exercises.

Renowned floral photographer, Britt Willoughby Dyer, will then discuss setting, composition and visual focus exploring ideas for choosing and styling your finished piece to be photographed in the manner of a 17thcentury Dutch painting.

A delicious lunch will be served in the adjacent Pensons Restaurant who share Tammy and Britt’s ethos of sourcing as much of their produce and furnishings as locally as possible, either from the Netherwood Estate or nearby suppliers.
