We hope you this provides the answers to your queries, but you are always welcome to call us to discuss in more detail on 01885 410 321.
What menu options do you offer?
Our chef, Lee Westcott, choses the ingredients that he thinks are at their peak each day. Consequently, the menu is updated regularly, so may not offer the dishes shown on our sample menu pages. However, everyday we offer the following menus:
Lunch - an a la carte menu with two courses at £27 or three courses at £32. The tasting menus at £55 and £75 are also available.
Wednesday and Thursday Dinner - a three course a la carte menu at £50 plus tasting menus at £50 and £75.
Friday and Saturday Dinner, only the two tasting menus at £50 and £75 are offered.
Please note that a 12.5% discretionary service charge is added to all invoices which is divided between the front of house and kitchen staff.
For parties of 6 or more, we ask that either the whole group chooses one of the tasting menus, or that you choose your dishes in advance.
Do you cater for dietary requirements and allergies?
There are daily pescatarian and vegetarian menus. It is helpful to know of any dietary requirements or allergies in advance. We do not offer a vegan menu.
Do you cater for large parties or have a private dining room?
We have a fantastic private dining room over looking the main dining area that can seat up to 14. We are also happy to host private events in the restaurant or in the courtyard. Please contact us to discuss your requirements in more detail.
What are your opening times?
We are open from Wednesday evening to Sunday afternoon. We accept bookings at the following times:
Wednesday: Dinner from 6pm
Thursday - Saturday: Lunch is served from midday-2.30pm and dinner from 6pm
Sunday: Lunch is served from midday - 2.30pm
How do I book a table?
There are several ways to do this. Either call us direct on 01885 410 321, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or use the bookings section of this website to use the online booking service. Please note that the latter does not accept bookings for parties of more than 6, so please contact us to reserve a table for larger groups. Also, due to the online booking algorithm it may say that we have not availability when this is not, in face, the case. So, it is always worth ringing us to double-check, or we can add your name to a waiting list in case we get a cancellation.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, you can purchase gift vouchers from that section of the website or calling us on 01885 410 321.
How do I redeem a gift voucher?
Gift vouchers are valid for a year from the date of purchase which is shown on the back of your gift card. Please let us know the value and reference code of your gift voucher when you book your table.
Is there a dress code?
We have no dress code, so please dress as you wish.
Do I need to book a taxi?
We are in a rural location, so it is advisable to book a taxi in advance as one might not be available at short notice. If you are staying at The Hyde, we offer a free lift service between here and the restaurant. Otherwise, we recommend the following taxi companies:
Frome Taxis - 01885 482 456 or 07789 764 925
Tenbury Taxis - 01885 410 444 or 07971 482 111
Swan Cabs - 01584 810 310
Ray’s Runarounds- 07891 225 869
How long does the tasting menu last?
The seven course tasting menu usually takes two and a half to three hours. If you are booking a taxi, we would suggest allowing three hours and please let us know what time it is coming to collect you so that we are aware of your timings.
Do you offer accommodation?
The Netherwood Estate does have separately run accommodation nearby. The Hyde is a Grade II* listed medieval hall house that is less than a five minute drive from Pensons. This has B&B accommodation available on Wednesday and Thursday nights for guests eating at The Hyde and occasional weekend availability. Please sign up to the mailing list if you want information about weekend availability when dates are released.
The Freeth is another beautiful house on the Estate that is available for up to 18 guests on an exclusive-use basis (see www.thefreeth.co.uk)
If we have no accommodation available on dates you are interested in, we are happy to send you a list of other very good options nearby.
Is Pensons fully accessible for disabled guests?
Yes, we have disabled parking spaces by the main restaurant door and most of the restaurant is all on one level (with the exception of the private dining room) with hard floors throughout. We will be happy to assist with queries about individual need and can forward more information about the site, so please call us to discuss on 01885 410 321.
Are children allowed?
Whilst we love children, we do not offer a children’s menu and the nature and style of the food offered at Pensons means it may not be to all children’s tastes. We do have a highchair and baby-changing facilities available.
